Need advice on proper patching of the game

Forums back at Ageod demand each new post pass screening before getting posted, making it really hard to find advice on this game.
Can anyone advice on what is the best patching configuration?
There is
The last official patch: 1.03.01 (2016)
The last unofficial extensive patch: 1.04 Beta, with a 1.03 QuickFix (2019)
and finally the GS unofficial 1.0 (2022)
From what I gather from the threads I checked, the optimal is the 1.04 Beta, with the Quickfix, but NOT the GS unofficial
Also, I do not have the expansion, and I am not entirely sure if it is required for the 1.04 Beta.

I would like to know this as well. Also where these various patches are located in 2024.

The correct procedure is explained in the second link you posted, confirmed by Altaris himself, one of the original designers of the game.
The unofficial patch fixed a number of bugs, unfortunately created at least another one and the modder disappeared.

The thing is I have no idea of the size of the patch to determine the media.

It is a 15 MB rar file.
The limit in this forum is 10 MB.

Downloaded, excellent. Thanks a lot. Now, I am waiting next Friday to buy the game. I am leaning toward this one instead of Guns of August.
