I am an old hand at UV and will soon start a new game. I just finished watching an NZ movie entitled "whale watcher", and one character called the other "old pucker" For all you kiwis out there, what does that mean?

Woops - I loose my kiwi card on two counts for this one.

1. I haven't seen whale rider

2. I have never heard pucker used as a form of greeting (or at all for that matter) except by that lunatic cook?: Jamie Oliver

Everyone go see "Whale Rider" it is great. Might have been "old Pukka" as well. Could be more Maori than NZ slang. Any help out there?

Pukka is an Indian word which means 'real' or 'excellent quality'. I think it came into usage in English during the age of the British Empire and it's involvement in India.

Hope this helps:)
