Axis move on Iraq

I have been playing an interesting Campaign as the Axis. Poland, Denmark and Norway went down easy. France proved difficult and didn’t go down until spring 41. The fun part was the progress in North Africa. It took some effort but the Axis took the canal and all of the Levant. However, moving on Iraq and the oilfields supply is limiting them. The Axis have taken the oil fields and Baghdad but are out of supply. HQs cannot chain supply. Axis units will have to retreat to supply or get annihilated. Any tips, strategies or advice on how to keep supplied when attacking Iraq based on limited port supply? Thanks!

You would need the rail line that goes through Syria if I recall correctly.

Thank you. This is correct and after the Axis were easily able to move on Persia and its oil fields. Unfortunately, the US landed in North Africa at the same time. What a fun game!
