Training for combat is essential to prevail in war. Here is a very small scenario where you command a M2A1 BFV Mech Heavy Company Team with the mission to seize the town of Fahrndorf. Here you can practice the assault on the town, and gain a grasp on how to set your SOPs, movement posture and time your mortar support in a small quick playing scenario.

You are very welcome. After attending the CPXs at Origins last year, I realized the way to learn this game is to set up scenarios that focus on certain tactical tasks. Keeping these scenario small, they play fast. Then one can try different tactics, SOP setting etc., and see how they work out. For example, last night I played this one twice. First time I just simply ordered all units to assault, with the tanks in overwatch and the mortars firing HE on the OBJ. I took the objective but suffered heavy losses in the infantry platoon. Then I attacked again, bring the tanks forward in over watch, halting the infantry platoons in the woods, fired smoke in front of Fahrndorf, then assaulted. I tookk the OBJ, wiped out the bad guys and I lost only 1 BFV.

Finished this tiny scenario with the loss of 1 BFV
Took a flanking maneuver, get into the town and then begin the bombardment. OPFOR relocate after taking a loss and it bumped into my defense position.

Nice little scenario. Perfect to get into FCSS and also practice different approaches in a "defined" amount of time.
This could be one out of a series of scenarios which would empathize different aspects (artillery, air support, air defense..)
