Hi
Trucks seem to be killing my Army with a slow death, I advanced to far forward, in some areas on or over 100 miles ahead of my rail lines, and with this muddy weather I am losing more trucks than I can build new ones trying to supply my Army.
This is the current situation in the production screen.

I am short of trucks in units
Trucks in repair is through the roof

This is what I'm losing on a weekly basis, nearly 3500 trucks

And this is what I am producing with not one factory damaged and its not enough, cant see what figure is being repaired on weekly basis but to me I am going into the red from the figures here.
Even with the tucks I capture and does not seem enough.

I need to build more trucks, had a look in the manual about captured Soviet factories unfortunately I didn't find the answer I was looking for, will captured Soviet resource and heavy industry directly or indirectly boost German truck production.
I have plenty of Soviet resource factories but no Heavy Industry as of yet but I am close the 3 Soviet centres that have Heavy Industry and they will help I will advance towards these centres and hopefully capture them.

Be grateful for some guidance on the matter

regards

get more depots closer to your units, avoid AI depot managment as it tends to remove rear depots near frozen Hun/Rom units or near Berlin where units mostly arrive.
This should reduce truck usage for resupply ops
truck repairs are buried in event log, i believe somewhere in supply section

will captured Soviet resource and heavy industry directly or indirectly boost German truck production
They do nothing.

Best way to acquire vehicles for Germany is to force Soviet Armor / Motorized units to surrender.

Not unusual to acquire 1k new vehicles when that occurs.

One thing to do would be to turn your supply priorities right down. At the moment on average your units have 87% supply. Given the Soviets are unlikely to be attacking in mud you can get away with them being much lower.

You want your units only to be drawing from their closest depots. When they have higher priorities they will often start sending trucks off to depots a long way away in order to fill themselves to the requested level of supply. In heavy mud that will kill your trucks.

woh woh woh... Isn't the "trucks in pool" # really good? I only have 10,201 in my pool right now during the blizzard months.

I am dyslexic I guess, the #s in the Supply, Ammo, and Fuel "in units" confuse me. The first # is the # required and the 2nd # in parenthesis is the # that exists on map?

I'm also very curious in OP's question: "does captured Russian industry help"? I'll definitely use the tips given above, but I'm still left wondering "does captured Russian industry help"?

My impression reading older posts discussing this, and Jango32 above, is that it doesn't. From what I've read on the forum it doesn't noticeably impact anything. Is that about right?

Essentially production in this game is fixed/railroaded. If the game is set so that in, I dunno, the second half of 1942 you can only produce at most 50 trucks per turn (arbitrary number), then it doesn't matter how many extra armament points, extra resources and extra heavy industry you have taken from the Soviets, it will always produce at most 50 trucks per turn. The only thing you can do is lower the opponent's output by capturing production hexes. The trouble is, by the time the Soviets reach Germany proper it's 99% assured a Soviet victory so it doesn't really matter much, and the Soviets get to automatically evacuate industry so it's never really lost unless it's industry from a hex that never fell IRL.

a ggerman player may want to strat bomb Gorky - that may really hurt the soviet player due to concentration of important factories there. Trucks, light and medium tank chassis.
Trucks might hurt them most as a large part of soviet truck production is there. other major part is in/around moscow

Okay, that's helpful, thanks. Seems like production or oil focused strategies are the wrong idea. Fair enough.
