Problem with US Transports

Hey all,

Playing the Fall Weiss II -- WIE 9.1 scenario in Strategic Command: War in Europe and had an issue come up.

In my game, I have captured Corsica and Sardinia from the Axis. I have held the islands for a number of turns now and the port cities of Ajaccio (Corsica) and Cagliari (Sardinia) are at level 3 supply and the adjacent ports are at level 5 supply. Unfortunately, I can "amphibious" and "long-range amphibious" my US HQs from the two locations, but the engine is not allowing me to "transport" my HQs from either location.

I only have US HQs in the two port cities, so I do not know if other kinds of units are impacted or if units from other countries are affected. But the US HQs definitely are.

I hope my usual opponent isn't reading the Forum these days. I'd hate for him to sink the long-range amphibious units that are currently sitting in the port hexes -- especially since they should have been re-deployed a loooooog ways away last turn!

How many other US units are being transported at sea at the moment? I'm not familiar with Fall Weiss but in the standard game depending on logistics level and nationality there is a limit to the number of units you can sea transport at the same time.

Platoonist,

Thanks for the quick reply. I do have other US transports at sea, but I don't think I was at the transport limit. I am, for example, pretty sure I loaded a different US unit at a different port AFTER I encountered this problem. But then again, there was a lot going on last turn and so I suppose I could be mistaken. I'll double-check the next time it is my turn.

Thanks again!

When you right-click on a unit next to a port, it should show how many of each transport type is available. e.g. AVL (2) means you have 2 long-range transports available. Of course, assuming you have enough MPPs.

El_Condoro,

Thanks. I am waiting for my opponent to respond so I can see the file. I am beginning to think I "forgot" one or more transports in the Red Sea or Persian Gulf loops. That might have led me to miscalculate the number of transports available. Probably doesn't help that I did the turn when I was tired. D'oh!

Hey all,

No bug. Turns out I just can't count. D'oh! Next time, I'll use my fingers AND toes.

Still, thanks for the quick responses!!!
