I did a little graphics mod for this fantastic game for my own use. Maybe someone is interested in it, so I decided to share it here with you.
I reworked the the contour lines of the terrain, so there are now much better to recognize than the vanilla ones. There are some other graphic changes like colored binoculars icons for displaying the LOS, a lighter movement arrow and blue icons showing the supply lines. The selected hex is also in a light blue color. Maybe there are some more small changes. You can download it below and test it if you like.

Very nice and easy to install/uninstall mod !
You must simply add all the modded folders in the game "graphicsAlt" folder.
