Refueling - aka why does the mountain go to Muhammad..?

Using the latest .15 build.

If I recall correctly, in previous versions refueling was conducted in a way that aircraft needing fuel headed to the tankers while the tankers stayed put.

Now it seems that if I select refuel, the game creates a waypoint for the tanker which starts to slowly lumber towards the aircraft in need, while the aircraft also tries to meet the tanker mid way.

Is there a way to prevent this behaviour? I dont want my tankers to leave their station.

On the other hand, if I create a support mission and put the tankers there, then regardless of doctrine settings, the refueling does not take place (the tanker remains at the mission area while the aircraft is stuck in the "manoeuvering to refuel" state).

Am I missing something?

See save file atteched.

For aircraft on a mission, there is a checkbox labeled Tanker follows receiver's flightplan in the Tanker Planner that is checked by default. Unchecking this should cause the tankers to stay on their own flight track.

Thank you for the reply but I think we are talking about two different subjects.

My gripe with refueling are:

1. Telling units to go get refueled now creates a waypoint for the tanker in order to meet the other party at halfway instead of letting the aircraft to get to the tanker (as it used to be the case in the earlier versions).

2. If I set up a support mission and assign the tankers to said mission then although the tankers do not leave the mission area the aircraft needing fuel also refuses to move and gets stuck in "manouevering to refuel" mode.

I would assume point number one might be WAD (although I am not really fond of the new system), while point No. 2 might be a bug.

It's a bug. Refueling has several issues right now.
