As soon as you give an land unit to attack another land unit the units begins to move towards the enemy. You can give than manual Speed of 0 but the unit immediatley reverts this.
It is nice to help the player, but it is very very important that you never ever override manual orders. I would like to play the game and need not any help. If i need help a make a mission....
Thank's

Don't give the attack order if you don't want the unit to move?? If the unit is not within striking distance, what do you want it to do, stand still?
I don't understand the issue. If you don't want the unit to moves, drop the target.

Will check later but I am sure there is a hold position command in the unit orders drop down.

There is in the editor. Don't know in the regular game.
edit: There is a hold in the regular game. I have never used the speed setting to maintain distance in the editor. Have always used hold position.

Hold position is good, but as soon you fire manually a weapon the land units begins to move... So
Ok. You first have to "Hold Position" and then fire. Then it works (I had previsously manually fired a weapon, the unit begins to move towards the enemy, i then stop the unit with (set speed 0) after stopping set hold position doesn't set the unit to hold).
So you must set hold position for every land unit before manually firing a weapon, otherwiese the unit starts moving towards the enemy.... (even if the unit is already in range of the enemy unit and you set manually fire option)
Why, what is the reason to set "hold" position if you would like to fire manually and you are in Range?? If you set speed 0 the unit should not move. If i want a unit to move i give an move order.....

The unit is in range of the enemy unit!
So there must be a possiblity to fire manually without moving the unit...The land unit is for example in an good firing position (urban or forest) and shooting to another enemy land unit in open area. I don't want my unit to leave this position to move also to an open area, that doesn't make sense.....!!!

Ok i can think that in previous versions the "Hold position -All Units" was the default and this default has changed with 1238.16. That would make sense. So i must remember to set this bevor starting a scenario in future

The unit is in range of the enemy unit!
And how do I know that the unit is in range, where do you explain it?
Without a save showing the behavior it is difficult to know what you mean.

1) Brown range circle
2) Manual wepaon allocation: If green then you can fire this weapon
So this 2 indicators shows you that the weapon can fire and is in range
