Does anyone know if I add this DLC will it undo or override the generic and scenario data? Will it affect the editing and modding I have done in past?

The DLC doesn't in itself write over your modded scenarios, but unless you've locked generic data in your scenario, you will have your scenarios be impacted by new updates of the game (that have generic data changes). The latest installer for Steel Inferno requires that you have the latest update of the game to make sure the Steel scenarios are in sync with the game data. When you are modding, it's safer to lock generic data.

Or use a separate game installation (like simple copy of the game folder) for modding.
