Our second Armory article is out now. This time we cover the use of jeeps during the Second World War and the Cold War. The Armory is our new editorial series that covers the historical use of a platform like the jeep or the TOW and how they interact with and are used in our titles. You can get a little dose of real life history, and tips on how best to actually use these weapons and vehicles in our games.

The Jeeps with the TOW and/or the recoilless rifles had heavier duty suspension and needed the weight in the back otherwise the wheels weren't right. Also, if you fire a TOW over the shoulder, I would suggest wearing some very good hearing protection.
You should have a picture of the Jeeps that the British used when they would attack airfields in the enemy's rear area.

TOW Jeeps: reaching back 40+ years now...
Signature: Spare tire mounted on the right side of the vehicle, so even with all the launcher stuff stowed, you knew what it was.
Heavier suspension, but still the micro-tight turning radius so you could snake between trees. Downside was that was a true killer for all Jeeps with a swerve at highway speeds. So PDO (Property Disposal Office) had to cut them into 4 sections before auctioning them off as "surplus".
Hearing: I thought, at the time, crews should have Combat Vehicle Crew helmets for shooting with the system mounted. Regular helmets for dismounted.
