Hit F3, scroll left or right to bring up your list of mechs and then hit either Call Attack or Move. This will bring you back in control.

VERY VERY important to players who do not yep grasp the time sliced system You can easily set your titan to wait for XYZ which might never happen. If you do feel that the seconds are running and you would like to get control of your titan you should press F3 and check the options.

The game is trying to help you with this as much as possible.
Expl. : You are setting your attack to 'Wait on target locked' because you would like your target to finish its dodge to the next hex (a very common tactic). During the wait a different titan of yours is disabling the target. Now the game is breaking your wait on its own as the target is no longer valid.

Nevertheless there are situations were your wait is no longer reasonable.
Expl. : Both players in a network game do choose to hide. Both set their actions to 'wait on time 200'.

Here your action of choice is F3 and get back control.

TOS:WS has a unique and IMHO brilliant turn based time sliced system but you have to know how to handle it.

Brilliant.... Ok... yeah.

Evil.... friggen thing killed Munks...

I had 3) 40 ton Titans... I do a random battle... and it plunks down a 120 mech titan that shreds me on babysitter mode.

The travesty.

Gad!

Quick tip. You can choose the number of opposition.

Select 'Set team size' and then again. Choose number of opposition to 8.

On default the game tries to match your team size with one titan which is usually one heavy against three recons.

If you increase the number of opposition it might match you against 3 recons too.

The game is deep, hope you don't feel lost. Stay on - you will learn - you will succeeed.

Hey, that's your first battle, and all of your jocks made it out alive?!

You did a hell of a lot better than I did my first time. ;)
