Bob Pilot Losses

Hi All, have come back for another go at Bob as Germans and I've noticed that UK pilot losses have been greatly reduced.
Destroying or damaging ready aircraft at take-off status hardly ever causes pilot injury or death.
Pilots shot down and killed seems to be the exception with most injured or rescued.
UK pilots ditching at sea are saved most of the time.
The effect of these changes makes it difficult (or impossible?) to re-create the historical pilot shortage?

Hi.
The amount of pilot losses on the ground was far too high in both scenarios. Pilots were sitting in their cockpits rather than realistically seeking nearby cover. The historical pilot shortage was caused by losses in the air which you will have to replicate.
Good luck!

Thanks Mark,
I get your point about pilots on the ground taking shelter during raids, however replicating pilot losses through air combat is still difficult because of the other two factors that I've listed.
Bailing out over water was extremely hazardous with large numbers of pilots drowning while encumbered by their parachutes.

In Bob the BR pilots bailing out over water are rarely lost. Overland bail out survival seems generous to the BR as well.
Even before the pilot survival adjustments it was hard to re-create the BR pilot shortages. The game seems to have moved even further away from this...just my 5c worth.

To help balance this we added a feature where pilots can be wounded in flight even if the plane is otherwise flyable. Depending on the severity of the wound they can be put out of action for several weeks.
You can check the status of your pilots in flight by stopping the timer and clicking on any friendly group currently in the air, or from the 'find air units' menu.
