[WAD] Country bordes fade away

In a global world it is not strange that bordes fade away but in CMO the borders are very important.
I see the layer borders + Coastlines are now a very thin line.

When I zoom in a little bit more they are gone. But I would like to see where the border is, to not cross it for example.

Is it possible to make the borders more visible again?

This is by design.
You can force borders & coastlines to remain visible at all zoom levels, by turning off all other layers.

Isn't this a bit strange?
If I do not want to use the bordrelayers with other layers, I can turn it off anytime. Now it turns off anyway, if i need it or not
A border view like this is not useful:

If someone wants to plan a flight in and out the border, how can you plan a helicopter ingress in black without terrain and the borderline itself? Also in combination with actions and triggers this is not helpful.
If you compare it with this data I would use a totally different approach:

I would like to request a reconsideraton of a (non) fading borderline.
If someone does not use the borderline he can turn it off.

I have never understood why borders fade away when you zoom out. There must be a practical reason (maybe), but I just cant see it.

Goodmorning,
FWIW but I agree that it is sometimes a bit anooying that they disappear. I realise that there migth be a technical reason for it.

There is indeed a technical reason. It's the same reason Google Maps & Earth was doing exactly the same thing when they used a vector layer for borders and coastlines. And it's the reason they no longer use a vector layer for this and instead now use tiles for borders (and they don't use lines for coastlines at all).

A free vector layer for borders must be possible to find or does this sound too easy to be true?

I don't mean to revive an old threat but I was looking if this issue has been mentioned already. I understand that one can turn off the relevant layers to see borders again. But there's a case for having them visible at all times or at least down to 25000ft camera alt or so. Right now, it makes area plotting for missions a bit frustrating when you want to take terrain into account. What's the Borders + Coastlines switch for in the end? Anyways, just wanted to share my opinion on this since I'm not the only one. It would be nice if the devs could put some more thoughts into this.

This is a known issue, but a low priority one ATM. Much bigger fish to fry.
