thanks, so looks any new dlc is long way to go. it is good think to know what is planed. but i hoped for some improvment to logistics, to make it easier to understand and more logical (and automated) distribution of logistic points.

What is not logical about logistics?

All you need to do is over feed it and use trains for city to city transfer of goods(I put a row or 2 of truck+ train stations next to the capital then seal 90% or so of the logistics going that way with a dead end) and know any time it goes through a truck stop or supply directly it eats away at it so keep those off direct paths. Or you can just use the easy logistics mode and not care(although this will bother you because roadblocks aren't needed or possible anymore), it's definitely a different playstyle.

I prefer the latter because you save so much time not having to care about logistics. But the first few games I really hated it.

Worse come to worse you can just simply create a mod to make truck stops give more AP/ logistics points instead of waiting for a dlc or doing the above. But then again ai does not use logistics like we do, so it'd only be good for pvp or for yourself.

Logistics Oversimplification: dirt roads have a range of 10 road hexes (not 'as the crow flies' hexes) before supply starts to dwindle. 10 road hexes from your truck station you build a supply base*, and 10 road hexes from the *supply base you build another *truck station*, repeat forever
truck station - 10 dirt road hexes - supply base - 10 d-road hexes - truck station

Sealed roads have a range of 15 hexes, so you can either do a truck station every 15 hexes, or:
truck station - 15 sealed road hexes - supply base - 15 s-road hexes - truck station

Railroads have a range of 25 rail hexes, BUT are much simpler to setup: you only build a *Rail Station* at the beginning and a *Rail Head* at the end. If the rail is longer than 25 hexes then you have to build another Rail Station on the 25th rail hex to extend it. You still need truck stations and roads to distribute supply outside of rail hexes since supply doesn't radiate (much) from rail, otherwise anything actually sitting on the rail is fully supplied.
Examples:
Rail Station - up to 25 rail hexes - Rail Head
Rail Station - 25 rail hexes - Rail Station - up to 25 rail hexes - Rail Head
Rail Head - up to 25 rail hexes - Rail Station - up to 25 rail hexes - Rail Head

The optimal distance is wrong.

10 hex with dirt road, yes.
15 hex with sealed road.
25 hex with railroad.

Also chaining supply bases will lead to logistics loss, overall using only truck stations is better. Although in practice they do have uses but it's a bit niche.

Other than that it's a good oversimplification.

Remember that my plans have a tendency to shift over time :) So nothing is set in stone.

Cool, going with what I saw in the steam guides and havn't seen anything to contradict it in my games so far

Thanks!

well, i can now see from which comes some confusion, since i didnt elaborated more on my problems.
what i understand is distance relationship, and that you need to build truck shops/railroads to extend range or increase capacity of logisticks.
what bugs me, is that sometimes you have green lines (when viewing capacity), interupred by yelow/red/black, sections for no aperarent reason (or to be precise, cant identify cause of this blackhole), only to continuel later by another green lines.
and yes, when this happens, i build/expand truck/railroad there while making sure they have enough population to run them.
still, it rarely fix problem, without any clue why.
yes, manytimes these black holes are crosroads with nothing on them (or very limited amount of buildings), or cities with maxed out trucks/rr for thiers size.
so some clues how much logistic points are needed/produced there and causes of this blackhole will help.
and yes, sometims i find that i losing "zilions" of logistic points to crossroad build by free folk becuse they deciced to build thiers farms/anything next to my highway, instead on it.

i have no idea, if this will be possible to (re)code, but in my mind there is solution to this nightmare of nanomanagment of routes and blocking ways of logistic points.
and it is simple, structures wwill genreate LP as they do now, but instead to be thown to roads as they are now, they will be pulled on demand.
lets say city is producing 1500 LP and 8 hexes away is tehree demand for 400 LP (some units there), so these 400 will be send thiers way, keeping 1100 LP of that city in reserve. not thrown to road without any use.
what will be benefit compared to current system ? it will remove nanomanagment or roads how to manage flow of LP.
it will remove headaches of how to balance network with newly added roads (which will not be needed to suppl troops, but greatly improve easynes of moving them around map).

but yeah, playng on easy logistic is allways opinion.

and now i remebered, i will REALY LOVE if there will be posibility to upgrade oil based railroad to electricity based once electricity one is researched. i realy, realy, realy hate to manualy destroy oil one only to be slowly rebuild by electric one.not to mention havoc it will cause to yours logistic network.

You can upgrade from regular Rail Station to High Speed Rail. It loses one level. From the manual on page 330:
Conversion of regular Rail Stations II and higher to HS Rail Stations is
possible. However doing this costs you an Asset level and will take 1 or more
rounds of reconstruction activities. The Convert button can be found in the
Assets Bottom Tab.”
