How to automate my 'colonies' to send supplies back?

So i'm in my first real 'island' game and i'm trying to master the MTH mechanics.

I've created my first 'colony' on another island and built it up to be self sustaining. I have a MTH transport contract going that has plenty of spare capacity.

I'd like for the METAL it produces, to be automatically sent back to the main Island to be stockpiled at the SHQ. This doesn't happen. It stockpiles in the zone.

I've tried talking to the governor, but all i can do is 'block' certain actions. Atm i'm manually moving the stored metal every other turn using the transfer command. Any way i can automate it?

You need to go into to the Unit admin for your SHQ, there are check boxes for zone pickup and zone supply by water. By default I think it is set to prevent zones sending things back to the SHQ over water so you have to turn on that checkbox at your SHQ. Once you've done that the zone should be able to send resources to it's SHQ by MTH contract the same way other zones will by road/rail.

Thanks! I never thought about checking the SHQ rules
