I'm playing Last Stand at Korsun as the Russians and it's been a blast so far (turn 10). Attack and counter-attack back and forth. One thing I've noticed is that the AI is really good at finding overrun opportunities and then really hitting it hard. He's destroyed more that a few of my units. I gave him +25% supply and +1 replacements and he's putting up a good fight.

Yeah I agree with you there. But whats just as good.. if not even better is the AI's double and triple punch. Look at how it attacks, often - even if there is no overrun, it will not attack once at 10-1+ odds, but it will attack several times at lower odds.
Quite effective in not just hurting units but killing them.

Yeah, I got a rude introduction to the German AI 1-2 punch last night. I'm playing the complete Korsun Campaign as the Russians and I was at turn 8 and driving ahead nicely. I'm thinking the Germans are scared of me or something because all they had done was retreat. Well then a thaw comes along and my forward units get caught ahead of their supply and exposed. The timid Germans suddenly become raging tigers and launch a very painful attack on an armor and a Guard infantry unit. Bye-bye vanguard. The AI is also annoyingly effective at stalling me just long enough to miss out on getting the 100 pts for the big objectives. Advance Comrades of the Heroic Peoples Army and throw the Fascist Dogs out of Mother Russia, for She cries for vengeance! Having a blast so far.
