I start the game, hit "Standard Game", and then hit "Load Last Game". Nothing happens.

On XP.

this feature only works if you have deliberately saved a game in the past.

Apologies for being unclear. Yes, I have saved a game in the past. My 'options.txt' file has a correct entry for last saved game (the name of the game is "Game 1").

so is the "load last game" button lit up as opposed to inactive?

Can you use the "load game" menu to load your game?

Yes, the load last game button is lit.

"Load game" works as expected.

I am unable to reproduce this, it's all working fine on my machine :-/

Is anyone else seeing this particular issue?

Cheers Chris

Email the saved game to either Chris or me via Wacht am Rhein or to webmaster@war.robjess.com

Additional data: perhaps it's the specific name?

Initially, I was playing "Game 1" and had the problem.
I saved it as "Game 1a" and "load last" started working correctly.
I saved it as "Game 2" and had the problem again.
I saved it as "Game 305" and it worked correctly.

Names with a single digit at the end?

Chris: you already have the save game, it was the attachment to the "undo active at start of turn" post.

To save a game:
- start a game, play until your wife tells you she is about to leave with the kids :) this is probably a good time to save the game..
- on the same control panel that you find the Combat Adviser, the CRT's, order of battle, score etc.. you will also see the Save/Load button (actually its the one just below the Combat Adviser) - click on it.
- Then just under where it says "save game name" click to move the cursor there and they type in the name of the game you want to save it as, then click on Save it.
- or you can just select an existing save game and then click on Replace it, to replace the old save game with the new one.
- From here you will also note that you can Delete a saved game or Load an existing game.

To Load a game:
- As stated above, you can load a game from within the middle of another game through the load/save button, or;
- To load a Game from the main menu, select Standard Game
- Then select Load Game and it will take you to a list of your saved games
- Then click on the saved game you wish to load and click on Load It.

I don't get a list of the games I have saved. Is there a lower limit on the number of characters in the name? I used AI and AI1. No way can I get them to load - I have to load autosave.:(

Are they present in your SaveGame folder?

Oops, sorry - my mistake. I was not saving the games. I guess I clicked the wrong button or something. The problem was that I did not realize you had to hit return when you entered a savegame file name. So the button was not lit to save it. Don't know why I got things so screwed up.:o

"Load Game" should be renamed "Load a saved game"

to stop confusion

Re-installing in the default directory, i.e., "c:\Matrix Games\Korsun Pocket", solved this problem for me. I was previously installed in "C:\Program Files\Matrix Games\Korsun Pocket".
