Playing BTR as the Allies. During the execution phase, I had to quit the game. When I resumed the game after restarting it later, when I'm a few hours into the execution phase, airfields which should have planes based, show up as zero aircraft.

Is this a known bug due to quitting during the execution phase?

Continued the game now three times and all three times had the same issue.....looks like I'm going to have to restart the campaign...

It's not a known bug. When you say "quit" do you mean you just exited the game during the action phase and later on reloaded the autosave?

Do the fighters show up in the OOB and/or when you list aircraft? How many fighter groups seem to be missing?

yes, exited the game during the action phase and went to desktop.

Airfields which should - and do - have full squadrons are showing up as squadrons with zero planes - none - as in none in maintenance or repair either.

I've continued a few turns, and the problem keeps returning during the action phases - squadron available strength continues to vary - sometimes they show 12 of 12 a/c, other times zero, then back to 12 at the same AF without any action.
