Planet generation mod questions

I am currently making a mod for my self to make planets i do like.
1) What affects the size of lava lakes? I Struggle to make more fo them. I think higher mountains and lava modifier allow lava lakes to appear. But how to make them bigger and get more of them? (I like them as natural border).
2) How to make perfect agrar worlds (mY attempts create either swamp worlds or salty water)
3) How to spawn more major regimes?
4) my planets are also always geologically dead. How to make them active?
5) how to increase minors with cities and less critters?
( I hate how planets are generated in Shadow empire. Why is there no function to just create a planet as we want it? Why force the player to reroll 1000 times until he gets an ice planet if that is what he wants)

Traveller planet generation is pretty much exactly in this vein and it's clearly trying to emulate some aspects of tabletop games.

Just wondering, I know a little about the Traveller ttrpg... Do you know which book I could find this planet gen scheme in?

lava lakes i assume are from planets less than 1 billion years old, maybe 0.5 bil (never tried myself)
vegetation starts at perhaps 2 bil low chance. i like 3bil or so, usually good for agriculture and manageable aliens. vegetation usually means lots of fuel deposits scattered around as well.
life starts around 2.5 bil or so, and it gets larger and hardier the older the planet is (6 bil can spawn really tough monsters)
good average temperature is 20C-30C for earth-like vegetation, 500mm to 1200mm of rainfall/year keeps vegetation reasonable, less rainfall means vegetation will be centered around lakes with the rest being clear/rocky/desert hexes.
more rainfall might give you more swamp, and higher temperature/rainfall might give you more jungle
for geologic activity it will tell you on the 'Geology' part of the roll screen (3rd roll screen when generating new planets)
for more majors/minors it's going to depend on map size - i personally think the generating a small-sized Colossus Class planet gives the best balance of everything overall, and the map is pretty spacious but not unmanageably big (at least for me)
