Investigate unknown contacts not working

I noticed this some time ago, but when setting up patrol missions, especially ASuW, ASW or Sea Control Patrols, any units assigned will not investigate unknown contacts despite both options being checked in the mission editor.
This isn't just confined to the mission Four Ships near Demon Point but the save provides a good example of the issue.
