I think my eyes are getting older

As I have been getting back into the game, I have found that the screen is really starting to strain the eyes. I don't wear glasses, but I notice that if I spend too long playing I can really feel it. I don't know if its the size two font, the fact that the screen jumps around on replays, the map not panning smoothly, being over 40, or all of the above. Anyone have any advice on making things a little easier on the eyes?
My settings: 1920x1080, altFont, deepColor and using the Yamamoto map.

I highly recommend a little applet called "Zoomit".
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysin ... ads/zoomit. I have used it with AE, and it is a god-send: you can zoom the map easily to make things a LOT easier on the eyes, and can scroll around while zoomed.

Did you install using Seabee? That might help.
My settings
"-SingleCpuStart -cpu2 -wd -pxf1366 -pyf768 -deepColor -dd_sw -altFont -archive"
I don't care if the first two conflict.

-altFont makes text more easy to read. But if really having trouble seeing small stuff, Zoomit is good for that, as said in earlier post.

I know that my eyes are older but my concussion 10 years ago forced me to stop driving because of my eyes. So as mentioned use seabee and that zoom program....GP

I don't recall it being much of an issue when my eyes were younger. But then up to a few years ago I used to be able to read all the fine print on those pill bottles too.

Keep in mind the game was designed for something like standard VGA 1024X768 resolution which presents much larger hexes and icons. The text switches were added in a subsequent patch and we were able to increase the resolution which decreases the hex and icon size (but puts more map on the screen). You could try reducing your resolution while keeping the 16X9 ratio. It's easier if you select one of the resolutions that your video card/chip has as a native one. Go to your Desktop, right click, select your video and properties.
I improved the readability greatly by getting a 32" monitor!

Are you sure concussion only affected your eyes?

I have to run the game 1900 x 1050 to be able to see it clearly on my 32" monitor. I hope that doesn't change in the upcoming years

I switched my monitors to the nightlight mode. I don't care for the red hue, but it has made things easier on the eyes.
