No Fuel on Stations?

Hello,
just started a game after not playing for over a year. First thing I noticed was my stations are not getting any caslon and also don't want any (no resource shortage - automation is set up correctly).
After searching for the issue here I came across some dev posts and apparently stations were changed to take all energy including weapons/shields from energy collection.
Is this a temporary solution? Because the way it is now this is completely incomprehensible to the player, as the design screen still demands reactors and fuel cells in stations, despite them being apparently completely useless. Why? The interface is also very annoying to read because the graph will show reactor output vs possible demand, not energy collector vs possible demand. :/
On the other hand, Colonies still seem to want caslon. I started as Teekan so I already have a second colony early on. Both colonies/their stations have a desired level of 9600 caslon, but my capital seems to be hoarding everything regardless (stockpile already over 20k) and the colony gets nothing. Why? (Space Port of colony is not yet finished, but caslon should be deliverable directly to the planet, no?)
Edit: After the Space Port was finished, Caslon was properly moved from the capital to the colony, so this is working after all.
Also isn't this a massive nerf to the player economy? Without the need to resupply fuel to stations, the amount of private sector ships that are needed is wayyyy smaller. I tried to look for the specific patchnotes or more info in the forum, but couldn't find anything except for "we changed it to energy collectors" :/
