Hi,

Been playing an Allied Long Campaign with the new patch and am wondering if there is an issue with the ridiculous amount of mandatory missions to bomb Uboat Pens. I am at the 21/09/43 and have just got my 7th turn in a row (!) to hit the Uboat pens. Lorient and Nazaire are already in the red form earlier Typhoon hits in early Sep. 8th AF has tried to bomb them each day as required but have only dropped bombs (without apparent effect) on one day due to weather over the target. Is this WAD? Can't generate any momentum against German Industry with this requirement. For your comment and consideration.

You also have to hit Bremen & the other UBoat pens in that area, I also believe that hitting the UBoat factories helps. Dont be afraid to use Bomber Command as well/.

I think something is really off in this Uboat pen bombing or I have the unluckiest run in the games history! I have now had my 10th straight requirement to bomb the Uboat pens!!! I note that as at the 9th time it was required I had reduced the pens at Brest, Lorient and St Nazaire to 94 - 100% damage by using Typhoons and Mosquitos. Seriously what the hell is going on ...... Happy to hear any ideas.

Are you unable to bomb U-Boat factories during the Mandatory U-Boat pen targets? Now that would be a bug that I thought we fixed. Otherwise you need to bomb those factories in Bremen, Emden, and Wilhelmshaven to reduce the occurrence of the mandatory UPEN targeting.

Sorry been offline for a couple of days. No, U-Boat Factories cannot be bombed by 8th AF whilst UPEns are listed as mandatory targets. I had mandatory UPEN targeting for two more turns making it an amazing/appalling 12 times in a row! I then finally had two turns without mandatory targeting, but the next turn its back again

huh, I guess we left it that way since we felt the game already favors the Allies. It sucks but it ends in 1944 or if you can keep UFAC value below 1000. I just checked the code....

Hmmm, it really is a pest. 12 UPEN in a row, then a break for two days to hit other targets, and now another 4 in a row!!! Driving me nuts, can't even hit UFACs (if that actually helps) as they can't be targeted .....

Hi Simovitch,

I am wondering if this UPEN issue is the reason why the game is so boring playing as the Axis against the AI. It sort of explains why my game has hit December 43 and 8th AF still only hits the Uboat pens in France and about twice a month bombs shallow into Belgium and the Paris area but no further. 15th AF choice of Tgts is pretty sad as well. Night fighting, as you are aware, is also a waste of time. Anyway will still play on and see where we go next; thankyou for your continued support in trying to improve the game.
