It starts 10:30 local time. On paper Pakistan, who are a genuine cricketing power, should win this easily but things are not that simple. They are out of form and have had a disrupted buildup. The US, on the other hand, had an excellent win against Canada and have recently won a series against Bangladesh, who are no lightweights.

American teams thrive on confidence and they should have it in spades. They'll also be familiar with the stadium and pitch conditions, having played there a few days ago. Pakistan are the most mercurial of the top cricketing nations. On their day they're unbeatable but when it's not, the wheels can fall off in spectacular fashion; with tribal divisions opening up. It should be an interesting game. Cricinfo is a good place to follow it if you can't watch it. It's on Amazon Prime here in Oz.

Well, well well. You heard it first here folks. I told you the US were a chance and they won in probably the biggest upset in cricket history. It's a boilover...the miracle on grass etc etc.

USA started very well, restricting Pakistan early. Eventually Pakistan reached a middling total, which gave the US batsmen plenty of hope. It was tight all the way but the US looked like they'd fall short until some great late hitting and a four from the last ball meant the game was tied and a super over would decide the match. In this, the US played much better and won the game.

Pakistan has been involved in some very dodgy results in the past (*cough cough* betting) but this was a genuine win by a rapidly improving and in-form US team. It also blows Group A wide open, with the US a real chance of advancing to the next round. This is quite historic and great for the game. The sleeping giant has awoken
