Lets spell out more detail about Naval Farming/Mining.
Clearly Pakhoi is the #1 Naval farming location. Japs don't take it, can work it over with no damage units, then do 1-point or 2-point damage, every other turn with Battleship. That's Mining. British best target, is Groningen, Netherlands. Destroyers and Cruisers are the best, the won't do damage. Clearly, mining/farming.
Areas I don't feel guilty. Anytime there's a ground unit on a coast. Could argue, this is mining. Allies especially. I'm not even gonna tell my other favorite place, because nobody has actually bitches about it.
Frankly, I don't feel guilty about it, in certain parts of the world.
Naval mining is annoying, takes forever to replay a turn. Takes forever to get experience, compared to Air. It's really not worth it. It's time consuming, gives away naval positions, and the opportunity is lost on real missions. It costs a nice piece of change to make it elite, Japs paying 28+ is it?
Please post your definitions of Naval mining.
Another trick, is "ground mining", all kinds of players do this with the Japanese ground Armies and German Panzers and occasionally Germany Armies.
Another type of Mining, is Artillery Mining. Just firing shots for no reason or follow up. Malta to Sicily, or vice-versa. Across the English Channel. China/Japan. Nobody seems to care about this. It does soften the opponent up.
