Sadly no.
Turning the back of a vehicle towards the enemy in a
firefight can really, really hurt.
yeah..

totola: this subject has been discussed many times on this forum. Unfortunately nothing can and will be done on this subject due to the limitations of the "game engine". I hope this clears things up a little. I and many others also would have liked this feature but.........

totola, about the only thing you can do (once) is hit "D" to pop your smoke dischargers, if so equipped, and turn and run!

Well, not so much a Giants fan as a friend of a Giant's fan.
Long story made short, ..... support for a buddy.

A “reverse gear” would cut the movement so greatly that it would be useful only in limited situations. If you’re in high movement cost terrain (snow, shallow water/swamp, thunderstorms) it cuts the movement hexes available drastically (
NOTE:except French tanks, which have multiple “reverse” gears

). I’d imagine “reverse” in those conditions would get you a hex at best IMO.
In other conditions, it might be beneficial to keep backing up (however slowly) if you’ve got heavier armor than the AT guns/AFV’s shooting at you can penetrate. I’d trade more suppression, more chance for track damage or artillery strikes for not giving the enemy a shot at my soft bum in situations like that.
It’d be beneficial in those instances I’d guess, but what’s the cost in terms of coding/programming time for this benefit?
