I have been noticing alot lately that there are alot of questions about Artillery. I was wondering if it would be a good Idea to make a compilation of everything on here and also from anybody that would also like to add to it. I would be willing to put it together, but I was wondering if it would be worth it.

I was thinking about putting together a downloadable guide which would include the tricks of the trade and also anything else which could help out anyone. This would be with whoever provided the information's promission of course. This would be something that could be used offline.

I'm going to give it a few days before I start into it. So far the poll is for yes. If anyone has anything they would like to add or what you think should be added, PM me or shoot me a email.
Thanks,
Mike

Well considering all the material and commentary devoted to the proper use of Mortars I would definitely say there is at least a point to giving artillery a decent document.
There is a lot to learn where atillery is concerned. How to best use it, and when and what to use.
The differences between smoke cover and just pounding the snot out of the target.
What will be effected by artillery, and what effects you should be trying for in the first place.

I think this point is a key issue.
Much has been made in these forums about anecdotal evidence for massive casualties caused by artillery in WWII. But it seems lost on the readers that SPWaW is a
tactical level game.
The artillery damage causing so many casualties was generally the result of massive, long-duration bombardments (sometimes up to several days). This, of course, is
strategic artillery usage. And as such, outside the scope of SPWaW.
Tactical usage of artillery (as in SPWaW) is not going to be as effective at causing casualties, but can be quite effective in dealing out supression and obscuring the battlefield. Keeping the enemy's heads down, and denying him tactical reconn.
