Any old guard members still around?
Misty watercolor memories....of the fanboy you were.Feinder wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 12:56 am I'm not sure if your question is in reference to a specific game, but I've been on the Matrix forums, and doing AARs for a while (since 2002). Started playing Matrix's "Uncommon Valor", and did a few PBEM AARs, and some "Name the Mystery Ship" series. There are several here that that we've migrated around a few of the games, including the (original) "War in the Pacific" (and it has an AE version also).
Oh wow I remember you both! Is Knavey still around? Oh the Uncommon Valor days I was a kid in college!Feinder wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 12:56 am I'm not sure if your question is in reference to a specific game, but I've been on the Matrix forums, and doing AARs for a while (since 2002). Yep. He's actually still playing a WitP-AE game vs. KBullard. He shows me their game when I'm over there for BBQ. They're finally in 1945, and he's invading Okinawa and nearby stuff. Last I checked, hasn't invaded Japan yet.Is Knavey still around?
Cool. Many eons ago, you requested a sig image in this thread. I volunteered, so I still had it about in a dusty back-up drive.Feinder wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 3:31 am I know right! I loved that pic! I somehow lost it!
How did you retrieve it?! No matter, I've (re)grabbed the pic from your post, and will update my Signature soon!
Woah a game that has been going on for 15 years that is amazing! That is some dedication right there! So many have moved on since those days or passed away that it is hard to keep up with what has happened to everyone. Sometimes you hear of their passing and sometimes they surprise you and pop in out of nowhere.Feinder wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 11:37 amYep. He's actually still playing a WitP-AE game vs. KBullard. Knavey and I had a team game vs. KBullard and LtFighter. LtFighter had a heart attack, so we closed that game. Then Knavey and KBullard restarted their own game (Dec 20, 2009). It's been going on for almost 15 years at this point.
Platoonist! You made so many great sigs for everyone including mine! I also lost mine at some point in the forums changing and found it again somehow. I think maybe you found it for me again as well I cannot remember now. You really added some flare to the forum we thank you for those contributions again!Platoonist wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 11:54 amCool. Many eons ago, you requested a sig image in this thread. Uncommon Valor works fine on modern computers. You just just need to run it using DxWnd.Tanaka wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 3:36 amOh wow I remember you both! Is Knavey still around? I wish that game still worked on modern PCs it was a lot of fun in a much more manageable scenario...
I think I remember trying to get it to work this way a long time ago but I either could not get it to work or get the display to look right. Wish this campaign had been ported over to WITPAE...IslandInland wrote: Sat Jul 27, 2024 9:18 amUncommon Valor works fine on modern computers.
