What does the red target / bull's eye on the map represent? I found no mention of it in the manual.

Some missions require you to sink ships within a certain distance of the marker.

In convoy missions, it represents the approximate position of the convoy at some point.

What is the red circle with lines representing?

Those ones are friendly minefields - they can still affect your ships, so avoid them!

I've noticed that my ships automatically avoid our own minefields.

I haven't had an issue, but someone posted an image of a blue box slightly offset over the red circle

Could have been coincidence, but since seeing that...

That blue box would be an identified enemy minefield.

No, the blue box represents where you've hit a mine.

This is because I've noticed that enemy minefields detected by your mine sweepers will also be displayed as a red circle.
