Aircraft Lost Control and Crashed

While playing Reds in Chains of War, I had an Avenger stealth plane suddenly display an amber LOST CONTROL tag, spin in circles with no user intervention possible, then disappear with an accompanying message to say I'd lost points for a downed aircraft. While this loss showed-up in the scoring, the downed plane did not feature in Losses and Expenditures. I've never seen anything like this happen before and the tag suggests that it was a designed feature, rather than a bug. An explanation would be helpful.

I could find no record of the incident in the log file but have attached it anyway. The game file is large, but the incident happened at 13:00Z (22:00L) on 20th January 2005, game-time. Unfortunately, I can't work-out how to zip the file in order to attach it. Any advice would be welcomed, but I am on holiday for three weeks staring tomorrow.

Zip a save file?

You may follow this instructions if you want to do it within Windows.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... 0cf89fd4e5

Code: Select all

Locate the file or folder that you want to zip.

Press and hold (or right-click) the file or folder, select (or point to) Send to, and then select Compressed (zipped) folder.

A new zipped folder with the same name is created in the same location. To rename it, press and hold (or right-click) the folder, select Rename, and then type the new name.

Alternatively with 7-zip, is free.

Or if the save size is < 10 MBs you may attach it directly if you just rename the format from .save to .zip

Enjoy your holidays :)

Thanks. The file is now attached (hopefully in a readable form).

Hmm, perhaps the third method is not a good idea after all...

May you use the first one?

The search function actually works very well on this forum. You can find a lot from it.

Thanks. That seems to confirm that this is a designed feature. Presumably a very rare one, as I've not seen it before or since.
