I won, uh, barely.

The Savanah Campaign. The first mission. Ugh, I'm beginning to hate that one.
Ya see, I keep playing through the campaign, and I get so far, and forget to back up my squad, and I get beat down, and have to restart with a new squad.
And, as I said, I really dread that first mission. Combination of terrain and jocks with low skills.
My latest restart featured no less than 5 engine explosions 4 of them in a row. My leader, in a Swift Death, got down and dirty in the water vs a Banzai. She succeeded in ripping its engine out, leading to the first explosion. since it was immersed, the resulting damage wasn't too bad, and she pulled herself upright and out of the water to help my poor Pack Hunter take down a Pike in the next hex over. (Ya see, the Pack Hunter had just taken out a Shadow before engaging the Pike, and was more or less banged up), while my Fireball moved over from helping the Pack Hunter to helping my Guru take out the last enemy Titan, another Shadow. The Guru was in terrible shape, the meson guns had critted many a system. However, a lucky Tesla removed the Shadow's right leg, down it went. The Fireball arrived just in time to put Napalm Missles through the engine. For a second, I sighed with relief, battle over, as the Pike was almost demolished from Power Axe hits. Then I get the dreaded message: Titan Destroyed, Engine Explodes!
Fireball has no armor, Guru isn't much better, and they are in the same hex. Pack Hunter is barely on its feet, and it too has little armor. My Swift Death is the only one with any armor at all, and her leg is red.
Boom, up goes the Shadow. Several damage reports flash by. The upshot is that the Fireball, well, goes up in a fireball. The spillover damage into the next hex was enough to send first the Pike, and then the remaining Shadow (who was apparantly not dead like I thought, just unconcious) into crater land.
4 enemy Titans, their entire force, blown to bits. And one of mine. Of course no salvage. I have one jock vaporized, along with his Titan. The Guru and the Pack Hunter have five locations destroyed, meaning 17 and 18 components destroyed, respectively. About 10 components each are light damaged or worse. The Swift Death comes out, relatively unscathed, with only armor components destroyed (about 5 of them), and light and medium damage to a couple of others.
And so, now I have a decision. While I, technically, won that battle, I am facing a massive repair bill. On top of that i need a new mechanic, and a new Titan. Since I have just shy of 200k in money, I may be able to pull this off. But, do I want to? This means I'm going to be low in money for a while, and I'll have a jock who will need some training time to bring him up to par.
OTOH, I did get a lot of experience out of this, and if I start over again, I'll just have to fight this map over again.
Decisions, decisions.
