1-
No matter which WWII scenario I open, I see that weapons like the 88mm Flak are not ranged. This is the case even in scenarios where each hex represents 1 km or 2.5 km. For instance, according to the information I found on Wikipedia, the 88mm Flak has a range of up to 10 km (vertical). I only saw AA weapons having range in one scenario (Operation Neva), but even there, this was not applied to every AA guns. I don't have much knowledge about game modding and I fear that I might break the game balance or files if I try to edit the weapons.
2-
In the Operation Neva scenario, I attacked several targets within the AA range. The AA units successfully intercepted the attacking aircraft in the hex within their range, but according to the manual, I believe the communication check is an important factor in AA attacks. However, when I checked the TOAW log, I did not see anything related to a communication checks of AA weapons. Is there a more detailed debugging method available that would allow me to see such parameters beyond the TOAW log

Since the enemy bombers will be flying at 10km, the 88mm can only target them directly overhead. They can't target bombers 10km away at 10km altitude. And even if they could, such a shot would be parabolic - much more difficult than just vertical.

Ranges are realistic for guided missiles, due to the guidance (or heat-seeking, etc.). Not for gunnery.

Yes, makes sense, not an expert on topic but feels like their contributions will be very limited so I think it's okey to ignore it.
