[WAD] 2D radars provide 3D information

In this cold war era test, I placed a Tall King and a Spoon rest at a RT company site and removed the Height finders like the PRV-9/11/13/16 etc.
The approaching F-4 is detected (good) and an altitude is provided (not possible).
IMHO these radars only provide an azimuth and range and are dependent on Heightfinding radars or 3D radar to provide the altitude. Why this post?
The chance of hitting the F-4 is now greatly reduced, because of a lack of information. The only info the P-12 can provide is that the target is in the lower band part or in the higher part of the two antenna’s.
Also if there are enemy Fighters in the area they know exactly where to look, which is not the case with 2D radars.
@Developers, is it possible not to generate the precise altitude info with these radars? And place an -UNK- at the altitude bar when only 2D radars are tracking the target?
