Starting distance in tactical battles

Once you start developing aircraft, with the scouting potential they have, tactical battles should start at much greater distances than they do. Often these distances are a few tens of miles, thus negating the effect of aerial scouting on the battle.
When carriers are already operating, this situation becomes even more unrealistic. It has happened to me to meet an enemy naval group shortly after the start of a battle in which I have a powerful carrier group at my disposal. Logically, the enemy ships would have been detected and attacked long before visual contact was established.
In my opinion, as soon as airships and scout planes are available, the battles should start with the two sides separated by no less than 200 miles.
