I should not see the enemy on screen if it is not spotted. I spot it but the machine says Enemy Not Spotted.
Can it behave like a human?

If it comes from nowhere to attack me, it is a surprise and an ambush. When I attack, the Enemy Not Spotted is a frustration. Can it be checked before I commit?

The 1st is an attack; the 2nd is Enemy Not Spotted. How come the enemy being attacked becomes a ghost.

More human engineering is advisable.

It is the nature of naval combat. You still engage when they attack you.
