Why does the US take for ever to enter?

After the last update, I noticed that the US is very slow getting into the war. Then when it does it does not have anything close to the historical deployment.
Why is that?
Is there any way to modify this? A friend and I play this game a lot and he even has the same questions as mine.
Thanks.

I don't recall us changing anything relating to US entry.
US entry is really predicated on the actions of the Central Powers. If they don't antagonize her (and many Central Powers' players don't, e.g. by not using unrestricted naval warfare) then only Entente diplomacy can make a difference until 1917.
In terms of the size of the US army when they did enter the war in April 1917, it was tiny, which is why it wasn't until 1918 when US soldiers started to serve on the Western Front in signficant numbers, as it took a year to raise, equip and train them.
To more specifically answer your question, making a mod from the relevant main campaign via the Editor, and simply adding or amending some Mobilization_2 or Mobilization_3 scripts relating to the USA can be done to bring them into the war earlier.

Thanks for your reply.
As far as available US troops when I first started to play WWI when the US joined they had 1 or two Inf units and a Cavalry unit. In recent months that has changed to only 1 INF Unit. I noticed that the US readiness moved slower and the amount of MPP decreased. Historically they had units slowly enter the war then that picked up as you pointed out in 1918. All I am getting now is one US INF unit and nothing else.
I understand that the action of the Central Powers affects the entry of the US, is there anything that occurs in Europe that would cause the US readiness to increase? ie Greater advance by the CP into Russia etc..
Thanks for the information on how to modify it, hopefully, it is possible to speed it up according to the situation in Europe. Also, I tried Diplomacy from the Entente to entice the US into the war sooner and it seemed like it had no effect. I spent enough to cause the collapse of England and France.
Finally, I could be doing this all wrong.
Thanks again for your time.
