Okay, need a couple of hints

Savannah campaign, mission 5.

I build a good squad, get good sucesses, start to build up, and then I hit this mission.

I seem to be impossibly outgunned and outnumbered. Brought in 4 recon Titans, fought 3 (!) light Titans and 2 or 3 recon Titans. Got gunned down, despite the "help" of the idiot in the catapult.

(okay, if we pile 4 in a hex with an enemy, please do NOT shoot at that enemy. You are hitting us more than you are hitting him)

Okay, redid, rethought, brought in 2 light Titans, and 3 Recon Titans. Fought 4 Recon Titans, 3 Light Titans and a Heavy (!!) Titan.

After several engine explosions, and having that moron in the catapult shoot my poor Inferno to death, got gunned down again.

What exactly am I supposed to do here?

I've tried to take 'em on one or two at a time, didn't work. Tried rallying around the Catapult, didn't work. Tried a blind charge, that REALLY didn't work.

Someone give me a couple of hints here, please?

(sde note, if any mission shoulpd be set to not advance on defeat, this is it. I've got a squad saved to the side, cheating I know, but losing a day's worth of victories to overwhelming odds is not my idea of fun.)

Here's a Big Hint. Stay on your objectives. F10 will bring that up.

This map actually teaches you a valuable lesson. Water is not your enemy. Rally near your allies and let your best pilot race across the water. You don't have to stick to the land. You may fall once or twice. You can even go partially across the 'bridge' and then jump if you have a good jump jet. Then all you have to worry about is the landing.

Try this and you might say. This map is to easy.
