All,

I finally took Malta in my game after reading these boards but now I cannot get my paratroopers to drop in N Africa.

In default-game parameters, Paratroopers must have at least 5 supply before they can Prepare to paradrop. Your Malta Paratroops only have a supply of 4.

Can you transport them off the island via naval transports?

That will have to wait until one of the Maltese ports build back up to a strength of five. Looks like they're still damaged at three.

Also noticed that the unit in question doesn't have the range to get to North Africa, unless you can upgrade its Long Range attribute, as you need at least a 7 hex range to paradrop from Malta to Libya, but am sure that you've realised this by now! :)

That's the reason I use an amphibious Italian corps to take Malta once the defender has been eliminated. Otherwise, a German paratrooper is out of action for a long time.

Yeah, you're out the cost of the Amphib or the regular Transport to get him back off the island. The latter is cheaper but you might need the para for other tasks.
