[1405 CIV] Strange UI Issue with "Show Balloon"

I'm not sure how many players use this feature but I usually do for Unit Lost, Unit Damage and/or Weapon Damage notifications. In 1405 CIV, it appears as though the coloured text isn't actually displaying in the balloons but instead straight onto the map, but also leaving black splotches, unlike previous builds. I assume this is a bug rather than working as designed (WAD) as it looks a tad messy.
I can upload a scen too but the screenshots are probably of more use here.
