No.

I don't believe fighters receive a bonus either intercepting or escorting. However, if intercepting an un-escorted target they naturally do better.

No. Auto just means that aircraft can perform both intercepts and escorts. The ranges they use for both stay the same.

Actually escort range is a lot higher. Twice the intercept range I think.

I know. However, the question seemed to be asking if the two different intercept and escort ranges change any when using auto. Maybe he's thinking having an air unit set to just one of the two modes instead of both (auto) gives a range boost in that mode. At least that's how I read it.

However, carriers in Fighter Mode DO get a significant Fighter bonus on defense, when under direct attack (vs. the actual air combat before the bombs and torps fall).
