Been a while since I played and forgot how big this game is and how long it takes to install. Had time to bake a cake

Very latest says v1.06 build 1328.18

I asked because 1328 are considered buggy.

A new beta is ongoing but only on steam.

Um thanks. Don't know what the bugs are but I've run into two problems and only been playing the tutorial 5 mins.

For a new install I would stop at 1307, the last patch in this series is still available, it is more than a year old.

As I said just reinstalled he game I last played over three years ago. The installation I've got is 1.06.1328.18.1 which is the latest on the web site.

Without wading through hundreds of posts does it work, if not what are the major problems that someone only intereset in playing th AI can ovecome.

If it's totally screwed which version is recommended and more importantly would I have to carry a complete reinstall which is something I don't want to do considering the time it takes.

The only other option is to wait another three years.

If not, I hope CMO team will release a new Matrix version, beta or official soon, or at least before 3 years

No steam. I knew nothing of the problems before I installed the latest. Thanks I'll ponder my options.

This is a nice pic for the loading screen.

The devs are fixing issues in the game. They are not "trying to fix the game". The game is evolving and improving. It has some bugs, like all non-trivial software, and the dev team is prioritizing and fixing the most important.

If you are facing blocking issues on the tutorials, you can try skipping them and dabbling into simple scenarios. There are 57 bundled, and hundreds in the Community Scenario Pack, to choose from.

If you are unhappy with the current official release for whatever reason, feel free to give the new public beta a try: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 1&t=405414 . Feedback on it has been generally positive so far, and I _think_ that at least one of the tutorial issues you mentioned has been fixed there.

If you are a never-Steam, you can wait for the public-beta "Matrix installer" version. No ETA at the moment.

If all that sounds like too much hassle (and I sympathize; we all have too much work outside our hobby time), wait until what is currently a public-beta becomes the official release.

If for any reason you cannot wait now, pop up again whenever you can. There are great things for Command on the horizon.
