Imperial Tide: DW (J) vs Nemo/Jansako (A)

This is the other campaign I am playing, this time as the Japanese against the famous Nemo. We are playing with minimal rules and like the game against Loka we are playing stock Scenario 2 (with stacking limits). This is the first time I play with Scenario 2 as the Japanese, having exlusively taken Scenario 1 in the past. To be frank, I don't like it, the Japanese are way too overpowered in the first year with the additional IJN squadrons etc, so I will likely revert to playing with Scenario 1 in the future when taking Japan.
I guess this shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but this has been a unique and interesting campaign. The current date is February 9, 1942, and lots has happend already. I went with an Australia/Malaya opening, and Nemo responded with a a Fortress Palembang (including the 18th British Division and several independent Indian Brigades) as well as a massive onslaught on the Kuriles/Hokkaido with the US Pacific Fleet and any forces immediately available. The northern thrust was parried and defeated, with the loss of three BBs, several CAs/CLs, and two carriers (CV Enterprise and CV Lexington), as well as damage to CV Saratoga. I also took the oppurtonity to land on Hawaii in a counter thrust. I also decided to bypass Fortress PB for now, instead going for landings on Burma/India/Ceylon. China is also being steamrolled, with Chungking being seized on February 1 and now pressing behind the Chinese in the mountains paths around Kunming. Here is the current score:
