Intermediate Axis Opponent Wanted (Closed)

Hi, I'm an intermediate player and no drama person. I don't spend a lot of time trying to understand the game engine so I'll never be better than that. I prefer someone similar if possible, otherwise this won't be much competition for you. But I do have a firm handle on tactics and strategy!

I've played a couple WITE2 games but never got to 1942. The usual story... people disappear if they don't get a perfect openning or you catch them out... ;)

I commit to play to winter no matter what and only concede if I've obviously completely lost it.

Game settings:
- Grand Campaign 41 Server Game
- Fog of War: On
- Motion FOW: On
- HQ Support: Locked
- Advanced Player TB Control: Off (I like a historical game)
- I would prefer reduced retreat option is that is ok. The current loses seem silly to me and encourages ahistorical play. I understand this helps Soviet early and Axis later.
- I'm open to morale changes but worried about breaking the game.
- I don't prefer playing betas but concede that everyone else seems to love risking a bug that will break the game we just put tens of hours into, so I'll do it if I have to :D

House rules:
- No temporary motorization
- No naval invasions
- no para drop.

I can generally do 2 turns a week but not always.

Please PM or reply here

Hi,

I think I'm the opponent you're looking for. I've played WITE, WITE 2 and WITW campaign games as both the Axis and Soviets, however I'm far from being an expert. But I'm quite comfortable with the supply and combat systems as well as the tactics of combat. I'm still trying to get a handle on the air war but I hope to work that out in this game. As I've mentioned, I've played multiple campaign games, but always against the same opponent, so I welcome the opportunity to play against someone new.

I can do two turns a week with no problem and unless either one of us gains an early victory, I'll keep playing until the end of the scenario. Your game settings and house rules are all acceptable, so please let me know if you want to ga ahead with this match.

Cheers,

Bob

Thank you, I set up a game as specified. Good luck on turn one, I hate turn one both sides but Axis is the worst.

Hi,

That's great, I'm looking forward to it. If you have the first turn ready to go, please send it to me and I'll get to work developing an attack that will hopefully knock your socks off. That will take a little longer than usual, but once the ball is rolling the game should move pretty quickly.

Cheers,

Hi,

I had already sent you a PM with the password for a server game before your post. If you're keen on pbem, I've never set that up but could figure it out. Hopefully the server game works for you.
