Silly question

Hi All,

I just bought John Tiller's campaign series version 2, I have the latest update 2.02. I always liked the series, especially the Eastern Front. I have to say, the game looks great on my 4K monitor, tough I do have one question regarding the toolbar. The toolbar looks very small on my monitor, is there any chance I could make it larger?

Cheers,

Peter

btw: The series runs and looks great on my Win11

UPDATE: I found it, it's in the Options menu, called Toolbar

Hi Jason,

Thank you for responding! One other thing I wanted to ask you. When I play, I like to have the Highlight Organization button turned on. During play, the button gets turned off...seems like a bug to me. On the original campaign series by Talonsoft...this would pretty much never happen. I have to turn on this button very regularly, as I like this feature.

I'm guessing, that there are no more updates planned for the series right?

cheers,

Peter

There are no updates planned for the is series.

BUT!!!

We are rebuilding it using the CS Middle East and CS Vietnam versions, so you have all the bells and whistles of the new versions.

We will be working on it after we release CS Cold War.

Stay tuned!

Hi Jason,

How is that going to work, since I only play WW2?

Thanks,
Peter

It will still be a world war 2 game, just using the new goodies.

For example, reconnaissance units actually being to recon!

I'd start by reading the Vietnam manual, this will give you a good idea of the coming changes for the World War 2 game.

You can find it here: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 7&t=394146

Hi Jason,

I do have a simple question regarding the future of the series if you don't mind. I have been a fan of the series right from the day the original East Front came out in 1997 by Talonsoft. I then I had, West Front, then the Pacific, then East Front II (not sure I got the chronology of releases correctly). I just recently discovered CS 2.0, because of a fan named JamesHunt. So the question I have is very simple: what's next in the series? I love WW2 history; and I red that CS II is in the works?

Thank you,
Peter

Hello Peter, since I was around, and I am sure Jason will shortly chip in as well:

Next up is Cold War, and after that, we’re likely heading toward a combined single WW2 title, instead of the separate East, West, and Pacific Front games. There’s a brief overview of these on our website’s front page at cslegion.com.

Before Cold War, we plan to release the VN 1.40 and ME 2.40 updates, which will bring significant added content. In particular, we aim to have most of the ME scenarios available with CSEE Lua files.

Wish us luck!

Hi crossroads,

Thanks for letting me know about cslegion.com, i will check it out.

Working on a combined single WW2 title will be a monumental effort. Good luck guys! ;)

Thanks! The plan is to eat the elephant one spoonful at a time—release as soon as we feel there’s enough content, and then keep adding more with updates. Everyone can then decide when and if to jump in. It’s still early days though, so we’ll see how it goes. Having just one game to maintain would definitely lighten the load for us!

Yes, the is correct.

Everything under one hood is the plan for WW2.

As Crossroads mentioned, we'll release a bit at a time. Expanding it as we go, much the same as we are doing with the Vietnam title and what we are doing with Cold War.

It will take awhile to be "complete", but as Petri noted, one can dive into the series when they find what works for them!

Hi crossroads,

That's how I worked on Tigers on the Hunt game as well, I ate one small bite at a time ;) I completely agree with you, just having one game engine for WW2 that will include EF/WF/Pacific.

Best of luck Jason! :)

Hi Jason,

I wanted to ask you, was the above mention issue fixed in the CS 2.03 beta by any chance?

Thanks,

Peter
