Here the Storage Technology and the Hakonish special Compressed Fuel Storage.
Even as Hakonish you need to research Storage Technology for bigger Cargo Bays until you get Large Cargo Bays.
That means you need research 2 techs and not one and, worser, the Enhanced Storage Fuel Cell overwrites at every update the Compressed Fuel Storage since its 1 Tier higer while being worser.

It doesn't require Hexodorium though. The requirement of that resource for the Large Fuel Cell can be a dealbreaker :3

Thats not the point, while the Fuell Cell has less fuel capacity it sits 1 level over the Compressed Fuell Cell, what means everytime you update anything on your ships it replaces the Compressed Cell and you have switch it from hand all the time again and again.

Ah, an issue with the way the game upgrades designs. It is clear now!

I think this is a problem for many things, but it often seems to involve racial tech.
