80 years ago this week

Sept 17, 1944 was the opening of Operation Market Garden, as most of y'all know. It is my annual tradition to watch A Bridge Too Far on this date, with this year being a little more poignant. Here's to the memory of those who served in that campaign, especially the Red Devils who paid so dearly.

Movie is a classic, that's for sure. Plenty of action & suspense.

It was years before I finally realized that Elliot Gould was playing the same guy (Colonel Robert Sink) in this that Dale Dye played in Band of Brothers. Radiacally different takes on him.
