I was trying to create a scenario where Chinese-occupied Taiwan is defending the island from an attack by a US-led coalition. I am seeking some info regarding unit placement. I realize that there are several scenarios already included in the Community folder, but I'd like to create a smaller version as the others seem to be really large.

My problem is what airports would the Chinese use, and where would they place their SAMs, etc? Some scenarios seem to suggest the SW portion of the island, and others opt for the NE. I realize that it hasn't actually happened, so there is no way to know for sure, but there has to be some sort of "official" idea, gained from actual think tanks. Anyone have any ideas? Any scenario suggestions that I could use as a reference that I may have missed that offer a different location?

Near-future fictional novel series, but these books cover a Chinese invasion and then the counterattack. They go into some great detail about how it would potentially come down.

You'll have to get to the 7th and 8th book to get to the actual invasion and parts of the counterattack.
