[1463 CIV] Height in ASL or AGL

Could anybody explain what the rationale is behind showing the aircraft altitude in ASL instead of AGL?
Now I have to point my mouse at a piece of terrain next to an aircraft, read the height of the terrain and substract this from the A/C altitude to see if he is doing something rationale of I have to adjust.
The A/C is flying at 232,9ft but it would be nice if this is visible

I remember it being it AGL, did something change? Can I adjust this? I could not find a new setting to change this.

At least 2000 ft AGL and below it should be AGL, above 5000 ft ASL, it is better to use ASL IMHO.

Didn't it used to show AGL in parenthesis or something next to the ASL below a certain level?

Anyway, you can still get AGL from the unit panel.
