AA guns and France

The weapon of choice by the Commonwealth for delaying the conquest of France is the ack ack gun. I am having trouble seeing the long term post France value in these weapons. I know they are cheap and quick to build but is there any alternative that can still be useful in France and afterward?

AA has value after France. It helps deter any Sealion shenanigans or even makes it more difficult for any kind of attempt to take the UK. Depending on house rules, they are also cheap amphibious units, than can be used to seize unguarded parts of the Pacific or North Africa, or at times, even Europe. They also help establish and keep bridgeheads in Europe, which will likely be met by seasoned bombers fresh off a diet of Soviet troops.
Also no other unit will simply neutralize the German bombers in France in 1940 like AA guns do. So yeah, there's not really an alternative. Only the corps is trained as fast, and those are just food for panzers. They are also 50 mpp more expensive. So the answer is probably no. You should probably try to squeeze in an AT gun if you can, but only after you built all AA.
That said, probably the all-in defense of France shouldn't work if Germany attacks France in 1939. So really you might not want to build any units that early at all.

Because of the likely presence of Allied AA guns in France in games versus humans, I usually buy one or more Rocket Artillery as the Axis and sometimes also double-chit Artillery tech. Or at least I do for the War in Europe game, I don't play World at War much.
